Income Tax Refund: If your income tax refund has not yet been issued even after filing ITR, then you must read this news. There can be more than one reason for refund not coming. Still, refund of 21 lakh people is pending from the Income Tax Department. The reason for not getting the refund could be a mistake in the ITR Form.

According to the information given by the Income Tax Department, till now ITR of 6.94 crore people has been filed. But out of this, refund has been issued to about 6.74 crore people. This time till July 31, 16 percent more ITRs have been filed as compared to the last financial year. Maybe you have the same problem too. Let’s look at some mistakes, which usually happen.

Reason for delay in refund

1. Not giving complete information in ITR
If incomplete information has been given in your ITR, then your refund can be stopped. For this you can check ITR preview. After this you can connect with your assessing officer with other information and documents.

2. Tax balance
If you have not paid any kind of tax or there has been some kind of error in your calculation, then also you can get income tax notice. Your refund of any kind can be stopped by the Income Tax Department on receipt of the notice.

3. Refund request error
You can get a notice from the Income Tax Department if you find any kind of mistake in your refund request. In such a situation, your calculation may be wrong, then you need to file Rectification ITR.

4. Error in deduction
Many times this thing gets caught after ITR filing. On checking, you can see that you have made some kind of mistake regarding ITR deduction. In such a situation, if you have not claimed the correct deduction, then you will have to file Revised ITR.

5. Incorrect bank account information
If in any way your bank account information is entered incorrectly, your refund may get stopped. Actually, it is most important for your account details to be correct for refund.
