Income Tax Refund: Cbdt Issue Income Tax Refund Of 45896 Crore Rupees In Current Financial Year Till 2 August

In the current financial year till August 2, the Income Tax Department has issued refunds of Rs 45,896 crore to the taxpayers. This is a great relief for the taxpayers in times of crisis.


The Income Tax Department has issued refunds worth Rs 45,896 crore to more than 21.32 lakh taxpayers from April 1, 2021 to August 2, 2021. Personal income tax refund of Rs 13,694 crore issued in 20,12,802 cases. And in 1,19,173 cases, corporate tax refunds amounting to Rs 32,203 crore have been issued.

However, your account needs to be PAN linked for refund. The Income Tax Department had announced that from March 1, 2019, only e-refunds would be issued. It will be credited only in that bank account which is linked to PAN card and which has been pre-verified on the e-filing portal of the department.

Due to this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had a meeting with Infosys officials on 22 June. Infosys has prepared this new website. Infosys Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Salil Parekh told reporters in the virtual press conference that, ‘We are working hard to make all the facilities available on the new portal. We are working very fast. A large number of ITRs have also been filed.
