If you have filed your Income Tax Return (ITR) for the financial year 2020-21 by 31st December 2021, then all you have to do is wait for the refund to come. But once you check whether you have completed this important work related to filling ITR or not, lest there be any problem in getting your refund after filling ITR.

It is necessary to verify ITR

It has often been seen that people get their Income Tax Return (ITR) filled by a tax consultant, friend or knowledgeable person. During this many times it happens that people file their return but forget to verify it. The reason for this is many times the person is not present on the spot, OTP is not coming due to network or postponed for later.

But if you want your Income Tax Refund to come on time and without any hindrance, then it is very important for you to get your ITR verified. Because the process of filing return is completed only after verifying the ITR. Apart from this, your ITR is also valid only then. Earlier, a copy of ITR had to be sent to the Income Tax Department to complete the process of getting verified, but now it can be e-verified.

E-Verify with Aadhar

Now the PAN card of most of the people in the country has been linked with Aadhar. In such a situation, you can e-Verify your Income Tax Return very easily by asking for OTP on the number linked to Aadhaar. It takes only 2 minutes to do this work by visiting the site of Income Tax Department.

Apart from this, you can also e-verify ITR from your pre-validated bank account, demat account, ATM, netbanking and digital signature.

How to e-Verify

For this, you will have to login to the Income Tax Department site with the help of PAN number, Aadhaar number or User ID. After this, in the window that will open, e-File will be written at the top of the second number. On clicking on it, you will see the option of Income Tax Return, with which you will see 5 options. You have to select the option of e-Verify Return, and then e-Verify your return by choosing one of the above mentioned options.
