If you want to file ITR through the new website of Income Tax Portal, then here we are telling you the method through which you will be able to register yourself. You will not be able to file ITR on the new website without registering. The deadline for filing income tax returns for the assessment year 2021-22 is December 31, 2021.
These documents are required for registration
1 Active PAN Card
2 mobile numbers
3 valid e-mail id
You can register yourself like this
- First of all go to www.incometax.gov.in .
- Click on Register on the new portal.
- Keep in mind here that select Taxpayer. Do not click on Others. After that enter your valid and active PAN number and click on Validate. If your PAN card will be inactive then an error will come. If everything is correct, click on Individual Taxpayers to confirm. Once PAN is validated, click on Continue.
- After this, write your details like name, date of birth, address carefully and click on Continue.
- Then you have to update the necessary information like mobile number, e-mail.
- After this OTP will be sent to your mobile number and e-mail. It will be active only for 15 minutes. After filling the OTP carefully, click on Continue.
- All the information has to be verified. Check all the information and then click on Confirm.
- Then type your password. Keep in mind that the password must be at least 8 words and maximum 14 alphabets. Always make the password strong so that no one else can unlock your login. Apart from this, you will also have to enter a 25-word Personalized message every time. After writing the message, you will be registered on the new website of Income Tax Department as soon as you click on Register.
