Income Tax Department is sending message to these taxpayers, submit PAN in 15 days.

If the person does not have PAN, then Form 60 has to be submitted. This form is a kind of declaration, in which the applicant has to give information about his name, address as well as the absence of PAN number.



If you have submitted Form 60/61 during the financial year 2021-22, then an SMS / email can be sent to you from the Income Tax Department. In this message, the Income Tax Department is asking the reporting entity to submit the PAN card within 15 days. If PAN is not there, then Form 49A is being asked to apply for it.

What is Form 60: A person is often required to quote or submit his or her Permanent Account Number (PAN) for financial transactions. If the person does not have PAN, then Form 60 has to be submitted. This form is a kind of declaration, in which the applicant has to give information about his name, address as well as the absence of PAN number. On the other hand, if we talk about Form 49A, through this you can apply for PAN card.

Message from Income Tax Department: It is written in the message of the department – Information has been received regarding some transactions reported by you in Form 60/61 during the financial year 2021-22. If you do not have a PAN number, apply immediately under Form 49A. If PAN exists, the PAN number should be submitted to the reporting entity within 15 days.

The official Twitter handle of the Income Tax Department has confirmed the sending of the SMS by tweeting. The department said that it is a genuine SMS/email. Recipients of this SMS/email please note: If you do not have PAN, you are requested to obtain PAN and report PAN to the Reporting Entity (RE).”
