IMD Rain Alert: Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in many states of the country in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in many states from 13 to 17 August. According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday. Due to this, torrential rains are expected in the northern districts of West Bengal till August 15.

Rain havoc in Himachal Pradesh

Heavy to very heavy rains likely in Arunachal Pradesh

Many schools closed due to heavy rains in many areas of Jammu

Heavy rains in various districts of Jammu region caused flash floods, which damaged two buildings and closed roads connecting the districts. Authorities in Rajouri, Reasi and Poonch districts have ordered closure of all schools in view of heavy rains and adverse weather. Meteorological Department officials said that heavy rains were recorded between 8:30 am on Monday and 6:30 am on Tuesday. They said that 280.5 mm of rain was recorded in Reasi, 148 mm in Kathua and 96-96 mm in Samba and Jammu districts.

Low pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday. Due to this, there is a possibility of torrential rain in the northern districts of West Bengal till August 15. The India Meteorological Department said that the low pressure system is likely to become more effective in the next two days. The department said that there is a possibility of thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in many districts of South Bengal till August 16. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the sub-Himalayan districts of Alipurdurwar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong till August 15.
