IMD Rain alert: The situation is out of control due to monsoon rains in the hilly states, the plains have also been hit by the monsoon. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of North-West, Central, East and Northeast India during the next 7 days. At the same time, extremely heavy rains may occur in Jharkhand today i.e. on June 30.

IMD Rain alert: Monsoon has spread across the country. The weather has shown mercy in Delhi-NCR. People have got relief from the heat after the rain, but there are many parts of the country where the clouds are raining like destruction. Monsoon has wreaked havoc from the mountains to the plains. Somewhere the cities are turning into rivers, somewhere landslides are taking a toll on people’s lives. The condition of Uttarakhand is the same as that of Himachal Pradesh. In Himachal Pradesh too, the situation is out of control after heavy rains in many cities, on one hand the rivers are in spate and on the other hand the mountains are cracking, due to which roads are closed everywhere.

The situation is not only out of control in the hilly states, but the plains have also been hit by the monsoon, there is flood in cities at many places, Jamshedpur received so much rain that many school students were caught in its grip and had to be rescued. Many states including UP, Bihar and Odisha are facing a huge flood. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of North-West, Central, East and Northeast India during the next 7 days. At the same time, today i.e. on June 30, there may be extremely heavy rain in Jharkhand.

Eastern and Central India

Today, on June 30, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rain at different places in Jharkhand. Heavy rain at isolated places over Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh during today to July 5, Vidarbha till July 2, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during June 30 to July 5, Gangetic plains of West Bengal during June 30 to July 1 and very heavy rain over Madhya Pradesh, Bihar during June 30 to July 2, Vidarbha on June 30 and July 1, Chhattisgarh on June 30 and July 1, Odisha during June 30 to July 5, very heavy rain over Jharkhand on July 1.

Light or moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely at most or many places over the region during next 7 days.

North-West India

Heavy rain likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh till July 5; Heavy to very heavy rains are likely over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during 29 June to 3 July, Rajasthan during 2 to 5 July, Uttarakhand till 3 July, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana on 29 and 30 June, West Uttar Pradesh during 29 June to 2 July, East Uttar Pradesh on 30 June and 1 July, East Rajasthan on 4 and 5 July.

Light to moderate rains at most or many places over Northwest India, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with speed reaching 30-40 kmph during next 7 days.

West India

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places over Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat state during next 7 days and heavy rains are also likely over Marathwada on 29 and 30 June.

Northeast India

Light to moderate rain, thundershowers and heavy rain at a few places are likely to continue over most parts of Northeast India during the next 7 days. Very heavy rains are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during July 02-05.
