India IMD Weather Alert June 2025: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds in many states till June 24.

India IMD Weather Alert June 2025: The National Weather Forecast Center has issued a warning (IMD Weather Alert) of strong thunderstorms, rain and storms in different parts of the country till June 24. Light to moderate and sometimes torrential rains with strong winds are expected in eastern and central India, especially in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on June 18-19, while the possibility of thunderstorms is increasing at different places in states like Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. Also, heavy rains (India Monsoon Forecast) and thunderstorms are expected in the Ganges coastal areas and Jharkhand (IMD Warning). This weather can be especially dangerous for Andhra Pradesh and UP, where winds of 50-60 km / h are expected.

 

Heavy rain alert in western India

In western India, heavy rains are forecast in the areas of Gujarat, Konkan and Goa and Central Maharashtra in the next few days. Very heavy rains may occur in Konkan and Goa on June 18-19. During this, there is also a warning of heavy rains in the areas of Kutch and Saurashtra. People in these areas have been advised to stay safe and not go out in the open. Many parts of Marathwada and Gujarat in Maharashtra may receive excessive rain, due to which flood-like conditions may arise.

Users have expressed concern on social media after the warning of strong winds and heavy rains. Farmer organizations have demanded the government to activate the crop protection scheme. Common people have appealed for holidays in schools and offices, especially in the districts where red alert has been declared.

Monsoon movement and possible flood hazards

The next update of IMD is awaited, which will be released on June 19 at 8:30 am. It will also include an analysis of the further movement of the monsoon and the danger of possible floods. Updates on the deployment of state disaster management agencies and NDRF will also be available soon.
