The rain that occurred in many parts of the country including Delhi-NCR on Wednesday night may have brought relief from the heat by bringing down the temperature. But the next five days are going to be tough for the country. A severe heatwave warning has been issued in some areas of the country, while in some areas, heavy rain may disrupt life.
The way storm and then rain and hail fell in Delhi-NCR yesterday i.e. Wednesday night, 21 May, has brought relief from pollution and heat, but there has been a lot of damage in many places due to the breaking of trees, poles and hoardings. In Greater Noida, a grill fell on a woman from a height, in which the woman’s head was separated from the body. Vehicles have been damaged due to falling of trees in many areas of Delhi-NCR. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for the next five days. Let’s know how the weather will be in the next five days –
Heavy rain warning here
According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the western coastal areas for the next five days. Maharashtra, Konkan coast, Goa and coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as Kerala will be affected by this heavy rain. Apart from this, thunderstorms, lightning and strong dust storms can also occur in eastern and central India along with heavy rains.
Severe heatwave alert here
The Meteorological Department has issued a multi-hazard warning for the entire country. That is, in the next five days, severe heat and heat wave warnings have been issued in different parts of the country, while in some places there is a possibility of life being disrupted due to heavy rains. Talking specifically about north-western India, heat wave will be seen very much here and people will also be troubled by dust storms. Due to warm nights here, sleep will also be disturbed due to heat at night.
This is the first time this year that severe heat wave will be seen in the entire north-western India in the month of May. Usually the month of May is the hottest, but this year the heat has been less in May due to the rain caused by the continuous Western Disturbances.
Heat wave from Delhi to Jammu
The Meteorological Department has predicted that heat wave will prevail in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan till Saturday 24 May. Apart from this, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab will have warm nights. That is, there is no relief from heat even at night in these places. Apart from this, hot and humid weather is likely to prevail in some areas of Odisha.
Strong winds will trouble here
There are chances of thunderstorms and lightning in the north-western states for the next five days. Dust storms can blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour in the north-western states, especially in western Rajasthan, in the next two days. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department says that strong winds will blow at a speed of 40-50 KM per hour in the western Himalayan region i.e. Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
How will the temperature be?
The Meteorological Department says that there will be no sudden increase in mercury in the next three days. However, according to the IMD, there will be a drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in northwest India and Central India during the next four days.
Why is the weather getting weird?
According to the IMD, there are many weather systems behind the weather becoming so weird, due to which different colors of weather are being seen in South and East India. One of these is the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation in the East and Central Arabian Sea. Which is formed on the coast of North Karnataka and Goa. A low pressure area is also forming here and a trough line is passing from North Karnataka to coastal Andhra Pradesh, due to which it is raining heavily in the entire region.
Monsoon will arrive earlier now
Due to this weather system, there is a possibility of very heavy rains along with thunderstorms and lightning in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next three days. Northeast and East India are also likely to receive a good amount of rain during this period. Apart from this, IMD has changed its forecast regarding the arrival of monsoon. Earlier it was said that the monsoon would reach the Kerala coast on 27 May instead of 31 May-1 June. Now the Meteorological Department says that the monsoon will knock on 24-25 May itself.
