According to the IMD, there will be heavy rain in many parts of the country for the next 6 days from today and during this time there is also a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.

There will be heavy rain in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely at different places in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat and Saurashtra during June 26 to July 1.

  • Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East and West Uttar Pradesh during 26th June to 1st July.
  • Heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh during 26th June to 1st July. Heavy rain is likely over Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal during 26-28th June. Heavy rain is likely at many places over Bihar during 28-29th June. Heavy rain is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during 27th June to 1st July.
  • Thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain is likely over Northeast India during next 6 days. Heavy rain is likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 28th June.
  • Heavy rain is likely over Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh Yanam and Rayalaseema during 26-29th June.
  • Heavy rain is likely at many places in Jammu and Kashmir on 26 and 27 June.

Light/moderate rain with thunderstorms will occur in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, light/moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely in the capital Delhi for the next 6 days. During this time, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 kmph and lightning can also occur.

  • Light/moderate rain is likely at most places in North-West India during 26 June to 1 July. During this time, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are likely to blow at a speed of 30-40 kmph.
  • Light/moderate rain is likely at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha during 26 June to 1 July. During this period, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds at the speed of 40-50 kmph.
  • During 26-29 June, light/moderate rain is likely at some places in Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana. During this period, there is also a possibility of strong surface winds at the speed of 40-60 kmph and lightning along with thunderstorms.
