Heavy Rainfall Alert India June 2025: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in various parts of India from 21 to 27 June 2025 (Heavy rainfall alert India June 2025). The Meteorological Department has issued weather related alerts (IMD rain forecast June 2025) for many states. Let us know about those areas, where special weather changes are expected in these days. Heavy rainfall is likely in many parts of North-West India from 21 to 27 June (India weather update June monsoon). Heavy rains may occur at various places especially in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh (South and North India heavy rain forecast).

Meteorological Department says it will rain here

  • Extreme rainfall is likely in East Rajasthan (21-23 June) and South Haryana, Punjab (22 June).
  • Rainfall may also intensify in Uttar Pradesh (22-23 June).
  • Very heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal, Uttarakhand (22-25 June).
  • During this period, strong winds (30-40 km/h), lightning and thundershowers are likely. These areas will be affected by the change in weather and citizens are advised to remain alert.

Extremely heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat

Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been warned in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat from 21 to 26 June. In particular:

  • Extremely heavy rainfall may occur in Gujarat (21 June), which may also lead to flood situation.
  • Up to 20 cm of rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh (23 June), which may affect roads and normal life.
  • Apart from this, these states are also likely to receive strong winds along with normal to heavy rainfall from June 21 to 27. During this period, there will be a possibility of lightning and thunderstorms.

Heavy rains will continue in Northeast India

  • Continuous heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the states of Northeast India from June 21 to 27. Rains will intensify especially in areas like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur.
  • Heavy rainfall will continue from June 21 to 24, and even after that it may rain at some places for 4 days.
  • Sikkim and West Bengal (June 21-24) may also receive heavy rains, very heavy rainfall is expected on June 22.

Heavy rains are also likely in East and Central India

  • An alert of extremely heavy rainfall has been issued in Madhya Pradesh on June 23 in East and Central India. Bihar, West Bengal (Sub-Himalayan), Jharkhand, Odisha may receive heavy rainfall between June 21 and 24.
  • Gangetic West Bengal is likely to receive rainfall on June 22 and 24 to 26.
  • Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive heavy rainfall between June 24 and 27, especially very heavy rainfall on June 24.
  • Alerts for light to moderate rainfall, strong winds and thunderstorms have also been issued in these areas.

South India: Heavy rainfall likely in Kerala and Karnataka

  • Many areas of South India are forecast to receive heavy rainfall from June 22 to 27.
  • Heavy rainfall is likely in Kerala and Mahe from June 22 to 27.
  • Coastal Karnataka (June 22-25) and South Interior Karnataka (June 23-25) may also receive rainfall. Other areas like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Karnataka and Lakshadweep may receive light to moderate rainfall, along with the possibility of lightning.
  • Heat and humidity alert – Hot and humid weather conditions may occur in some southern states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
  • The effect of heat and humidity may increase in Tamil Nadu (21-22 June).
  • Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema (21-24 June) will also experience hot and humid conditions, which may affect public life.

All areas need to be alert

Due to weather changes in different parts of India, widespread rainfall and bad weather conditions may occur between June 21 and 27. Citizens have been advised to follow the warnings of weather changes in these areas and need to be cautious while traveling on the roads.
