Rain Alert: There is news of relief for the people of North India, as the monsoon has indicated to knock in Delhi-NCR before the scheduled time. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’, predicting rain with thunder and lightning in the capital. The humidity in the atmosphere has increased due to the activity of eastern winds, due to which the weather is expected to change throughout the week from today.

Rain Alert: There is news of relief from heat for the people of North India. Monsoon may knock in Delhi-NCR a few days before its normal arrival on Tuesday i.e. today. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’, predicting rain with thunder and lightning in the capital. Weather agency Skymet has also confirmed that the monsoon may reach Delhi by June 24.

Rain in Delhi from today, relief from heat

Due to easterly winds, humidity has increased in Delhi and after light rain, heavy rain is expected. The weather is expected to change throughout the week from today, which may bring relief in temperature and humidity.

Monsoon active in Rajasthan too

Monsoon activity is also visible in Rajasthan. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Kota, Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions. There is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in western Rajasthan from June 25 to 27. A new wave of heavy rains may start in eastern Rajasthan from June 27.

Orange alert in Himachal Pradesh

Very heavy rain has been warned in Himachal Pradesh for the next two days. The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ here. Monsoon has entered the state on Friday.

Rain in UP and MP too

It is raining intermittently in Gorakhpur, Deoria and Kushinagar, giving relief to the people from the heat. Rain is likely to continue in the coming days as well. At the same time, heavy rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh till June 27.

Life affected due to heavy rain in Gujarat

More than 100 mm of rain has been recorded in Surat. Four to five societies are affected due to waterlogging in low-lying areas, although no damage has been reported so far.

Heavy rain may occur in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Vidarbha between June 25 and 27. The Meteorological Department has also advised people to remain alert in these areas.
