The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and snowfall at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts for the next four days. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the hilly districts of Garhwal division, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar of Kumaon on February 27, 28. On March 1-2, there may be light to moderate rain and snowfall at many places in the hilly districts of the state and light rain and snowfall at some places in the plains districts.

There is a possibility of snowfall in the areas of height of 3500 meters and above. A warning of hailstorm with lightning has been issued in some hilly and plain districts. For this, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert.

There is a steady rise in temperature in most of the states across the country. Above average temperatures are prevailing in the states from north to south. States like UP, Delhi, Bihar have started experiencing heat like April-May in February itself. However, due to the imminent arrival of a new Western Disturbance, a rain alert has been issued.

According to the Meteorological Department, the new Western Disturbance is going to affect the weather in the Western Himalayan region. Its effect will be from February 28 to March 2. At the same time, there is not going to be any major change in the maximum temperature in Punjab, Haryana and Gujarat for the next 48 hours and after that the temperature will increase by two to three degrees Celsius.

Rain forecast in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, due to Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in the Himalayan regions and North West states from February 28. The hilly states of North India will receive light to moderate rain and snowfall between March 28 and March 2. During this, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms. At the same time, there is an alert for rain in Punjab during this period, while there is a possibility of rain in Haryana and Chandigarh on March 1 and 2.

There may be heavy rains in the Kashmir Valley and Himachal Pradesh on March 1. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh on February 28 and March 1, Uttarakhand on March 1 and March 2. At the same time, there is a possibility of strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph in Punjab on February 28 and March 1, Haryana and Chandigarh on March 1.
