Monsoon is in full swing in the country at this time. Heavy rains have been continuing in many states since morning. In its latest forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains in many parts including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Delhi and Rajasthan.

According to the Meteorological Department, these areas will continue to receive continuous rains for the next few days, which may affect normal life.

Orange alert in Uttarakhand

The weather is quite severe in the hilly state of Uttarakhand at this time. The Meteorological Department has declared an orange alert, anticipating heavy rains in districts like Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Nainital. At the same time, yellow alert has been implemented in other districts of the state regarding lightning and rain. The department says that till August 27, most parts of the state will continue to receive continuous rain. Also, Himachal Pradesh will also witness heavy rains in the coming days.

Torrential rain expected in Odisha

There are signs of deteriorating weather in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. Due to the new system formed in the Bay of Bengal, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in many areas of the state for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has warned that this rain may cause waterlogging in low-lying areas and affect life. Fishermen have been advised not to go into the sea and the administration has been asked to remain on alert mode.

Alert in Bihar till August 28

This time monsoon is in full swing in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state till August 28. There is a danger of continuous rain and lightning especially in most areas of south-west, south-central and south-east Bihar. The administration has appealed to the people to remain alert in Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad, Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Jehanabad, Arwal, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Jamui, Munger, Banka, Bhagalpur and Khagaria.

Monsoon gained momentum in UP

Monsoon has once again become fully active in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in 40 districts of the state today. These include districts like Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Jalaun, Kanpur, Auraiya, Kannauj, Unnao, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Ayodhya, Gonda, Sultanpur, Banda, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Pratapgarh and Moradabad. There is a possibility of torrential rain and thunderstorms in these areas during the next 24 hours.
