IMD issues high alert in these states, Severe rain expected on November 12-13

IMD issues high alert: Cold has arrived in many parts of the country, including North India. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the cold wave is expected to persist for the next five days. The cold will intensify in several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Odisha.

Weather condition, according to IMD

According to the IMD, cold wave conditions are likely to persist in parts of Madhya Pradesh, southern Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and northeastern Rajasthan from November 11th to 15th. Parts of Madhya Pradesh may experience a severe cold wave from November 11th to 12th. Cold conditions will continue in some areas from November 13th to 15th.

There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over northwest, central, and eastern India over the next 6-7 days. Temperatures are likely to remain 2-3 degrees Celsius below normal. Temperatures in Telangana may drop by 3-4 degrees for 2-3 days.

Cold wave likely in western and eastern states

  • Western Madhya Pradesh: Severe cold wave to begin from November 12 
  • Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi: Severe cold wave to begin from November 12 
  • Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh: Severe cold wave to begin from November 14 
  • Vidarbha: Severe cold wave to prevail from November 12-13 
  • Jharkhand and Odisha: Severe cold wave to prevail from November 11-12 

Chances of rain in South India

The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe on November 12-13.

Cold wave will prevail in Rajasthan

Minimum temperatures have dropped in many areas of Rajasthan. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the weather in the state will remain dry for the next week, but the cold will intensify. A new cold wave will begin in Tonk and Sikar districts on November 11th, and may continue for the next five days.
