Weather Update IMD has issued a yellow alert in the national capital Delhi, warning of light rain and thundershowers in the next six days. The mercury is expected to drop to 35 degree Celsius by Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for many states. According to the IMD, during the next five days, there will be rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. During this, there will be heavy rain with strong winds.

Along with this, while issuing a red alert for Assam and Meghalaya, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain activity in the north eastern states till June 17. IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rains till June 17 for these states. Heavy rains are already occurring at many places in Assam and Meghalaya. In addition to the red alert for Assam and Meghalaya for Thursday and Friday, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Arunachal Pradesh till June 17.

Light rain warning for the next six days in Delhi

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert with warnings of thunder and strong winds in the national capital. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, two notches above normal. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 40 degree Celsius. It was cloudy in Delhi on Tuesday. A Western Disturbance and low-level easterly are predicted in the coming days, which is likely to keep the heat at bay. Along with this, the IMD has issued a yellow alert warning of thunderstorms or light rain in the next six days. The mercury is expected to drop to 35 degree Celsius by Sunday.

There is rain alert in these districts of Bihar

The effect of Southwest Monsoon has started showing in Bihar. Rain alert has been issued in many districts of Bihar. There has been rain in many districts including Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia and Supaul of Bihar. Bhimnagar in Supaul district received maximum rainfall of 48.4 mm. It is believed that the effect of monsoon will start showing during the next 24 hours. Due to this effect, rain and thundershowers have been predicted in the entire state including Patna.

There will be heavy rain in these districts of Jharkhand

A yellow alert has been issued regarding rain in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The Regional Meteorological Department of the state said that light rain may occur in Lohardaga, Latehar districts including Ranchi. During this time the wind speed can be up to 30-40 kilometers per hour. Along with this, the Meteorological Department said that the people of Ranchi can get relief from the drop in temperature and the sultry heat.
