Weather Update: The Meteorological Department says that the cold may increase further in the coming days. There are chances of rain from Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal to Sikkim.

This is the lowest temperature of this season. Weather officials said that there was dense fog in many areas of the city. The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Sunday was 3.5 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest temperature of the season till Monday.

Apart from Delhi-NCR, the cold is also the same in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Due to this, there may be light rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Besides, snowfall is also expected in different areas on January 17 and 18.

Badra will rain from Bihar to Sikkim

The Meteorological Department says that the cold may increase further in the coming days. There are chances of rain from Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal to Sikkim. Light to moderate rain may occur in different areas of these states on Tuesday and Wednesday. In the press release issued by IMD, it was said that heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim on January 17. Dense fog amidst rain in winter is also going to increase the problems. The Meteorological Department says that there may be dense to very dense fog in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi till January 18. During this period, many areas of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will also remain in the grip of fog.

Change in routes of flights due to bad weather

Let us inform that the route of 5 flights arriving at Delhi Airport was changed due to bad weather on Monday morning. The official said that between 1 am and 5 am, four flights were diverted to Jaipur and one flight was sent to Ahmedabad. On Sunday, 10 flights were diverted and some were cancelled. Aircraft operations at the airport have been significantly affected due to low visibility and dense fog. At the same time, due to bad weather in Chennai, the route of a flight of Sichuan Airlines was changed. It was diverted to Thirunanthapuram International Airport. Officials of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Limited said that the cargo plane coming from Chengdu, China landed safely at the airport here at around 8.37 am.
