IMD Alert! Weather will change from this day, Heavy rain in these states, cold will increase here, temperature will fall

An alert has been issued for light to moderate rain in Andaman Nicobar Islands and heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema for the next five days.


IMD Alert/Weather Update Today: On one hand, the effect of cold has started increasing in the plains of North India and Delhi-NCR, while on the other hand, rain is wreaking havoc in the southern states. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in many states of the country including Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry on Thursday. Today there may be moderate to heavy rain in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh, while Andaman and Nicobar. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls is likely over the Islands.

Alert of heavy rain in these states

According to IMD, today there will be moderate to heavy rain over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and south coast of Andhra Pradesh, light to moderate rain over Andaman Nicobar Islands and heavy rain at some places. Due to the formation of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, an alert has been issued for light to moderate rain in Andaman Nicobar Islands and heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema for the next five days.

A warning of heavy rain has also been issued in Odisha and West Bengal on 15-16 November. On November 17, heavy rain is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. A warning has been issued for fishermen in and around Andhra Pradesh coast. The wind speed is predicted to increase from Wednesday due to the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.

Cold and fog in these states, drop in temperature

According to IMD, people have started feeling the cold in MP, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Punjab, UP and Bihar. In the next few days, cold will increase in Delhi, UP and Chhattisgarh and there will also be dense fog. In other states of the country, the minimum temperature is expected to be five degrees Celsius above normal in eastern Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Ganga coastal areas of West Bengal, Saurashtra and different parts of Kutch.

The weather will remain dry in most areas of the country till November 16, after which there are signs of falling temperature from the hilly areas to the plains. Cold will increase in the morning and evening in Bihar and fog will also persist. The weather is expected to remain clear in Himachal for the next one week. In the coming days also, the morning and evening will be cold due to the drop in minimum temperature.

The effect of cold will intensify in MP from today Wednesday, due to a new weather system active in the Bay of Bengal, there will be light rain in some districts of Gwalior Chambal division as well as in some places in Panna, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Raisen, Vidisha, Tikamgarh. it might rain.

Both day and night temperatures are close to normal in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, parts of West and Central Uttar Pradesh, North and North-East Rajasthan and parts of Madhya Pradesh, the maximum temperature is below thirty degrees while the minimum temperature is between 10 to 13 degrees.

What does the weather department say?

According to the IMD Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is forming over south-east Bay of Bengal, which is moving west-northwestwards and will intensify into a deep depression over West Central Bay of Bengal off the coast of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. The depression is likely to turn north-northeastwards and reach northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on Friday. At present, the area of Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation extends up to the Bay of Bengal, due to which temperature fluctuations are observed. Upper air circulation over Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Andaman Sea and surrounding areas of South-East Bay of Bengal. Due to the cyclonic circulation, a low pressure area has formed.
