IMD Alert: Light to moderate rain is possible in Jharkhand, parts of Bihar, south-eastern Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Lakshadweep. Light rain is possible in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.


New Delhi: These days the weather trend has changed in many states of the country. Meanwhile, due to snowfall in the hilly states, cold has started increasing in the plain states of North India. Due to snowfall at isolated places in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, cold winds are blowing in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and a drop in temperature is also being recorded. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, rain was also seen at many places in Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand and eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Apart from this, the severe cyclonic storm Michong, which formed over the South Andhra Pradesh coast along the West Central Bay of Bengal, has now weakened into a low pressure area over North-East Telangana, South Chhattisgarh and South Interior Odisha. However, due to this storm, light rain is expected in some states of South India for the next one or two days. Talking about today’s weather, according to the report of Skymet Weather, rain activities may increase in North-East India today.

Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls is possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam during the next 48 hours. There may be light rain in Arunachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rain is possible in Jharkhand, parts of Bihar, south-eastern Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Lakshadweep. Light rain is possible in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Due to the cyclone, Northeast Monsoon has been weak in Tamil Nadu and Kerala for two days. The change in weather patterns has been felt especially in the state of Kerala. There is a possibility of seeing light activity in the system today. One circulation will form over Comorin area and the other system over Southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep. These embedded circulations will increase rainfall activities over Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Today, partly light rain will be seen in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. On December 8, the spread and intensity of rainfall will increase, reaching parts of South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru, Mysore and Mandya cities by the 9th.
