IMD Alert: Weather changes again, rain alert in 14 states, heat wave alert in these states, know here details

During the next 5 days, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and thundershowers in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 5 days, the same for Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, East Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh today. There are signs of partly cloudy sky with thundershowers at isolated places in some parts. Till May 5, these areas will see cloudy or dusty winds. After May 7, the heat wave is expected to harden again.

According to the India Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over South Andaman Sea and adjoining area on May 4, with the effect of which a low pressure area will develop over the same area till May 6. Light rain is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and East Uttar Pradesh along with Lakshadweep, parts of Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh.

According to the skymet weather, there are signs of a western disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining area. A Trough is extending from West Uttar Pradesh to Gangetic West Bengal across South Bihar and North Jharkhand. Another Low Pressure Line is extending up to Lakshadweep via Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana and Karnataka. During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain is very likely over Northeast India, West Bengal, Sikkim, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Kerala, South Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Effect of heat wave in these states

According to the IMD, the heat wave will end in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and West Rajasthan from May 3. It is likely to be partly cloudy with wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph in the next 24 hours. For days, there will be a heatwave effect over Delhi and adjoining areas, while there is a possibility of dust storm or thundershower at isolated places over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi. Dust storm or thundershower may occur over North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Chance of hail

There is a possibility of rain in Uttarakhand between May 2 to 5. In some places there is an alert of lightning and hailstorm along with thunderstorm. There is an alert of rain with thunderstorm in the districts of North Bihar. For 48 hours, strong winds of 40 km per hour will prevail over northern parts of Bihar and some parts of southeast. In the midst of strong wind, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the likely areas.
