IMD Alert: Orange alert for rain in 13 states till April 14, heatwave warning in 8 north-central states, know details

Kerala is currently one of the only states in India that is witnessing Pre-Monsoon rainfall activities along with parts of Karnataka.

IMD Alert has advised people in North and Central India to be alert. In fact, in the months of April and May, due to the summer, life is disturbed. The minimum temperature in Dehradun can be 18 degrees while the maximum temperature can take up to 38 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain, thunder and lightning at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan till April 10, with a chance of thunderstorms. The maximum temperature in Pune is also likely to hover around 40-41 degrees Celsius (2-3 degrees above normal) for the next week. The IMD had forecast only partly cloudy sky for the city on April 9.

Assam, Meghalaya on orange alert

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), strong and moist southwesterly winds are blowing over the Bay of Bengal and northeastern states. In the next five days, widespread rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. At the same time, isolated rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Kashyapi said that from April 8 to April 14, there is a possibility of above normal temperature in Konkan, Goa and north-west central Maharashtra. IMD said that from April 15 to 21, day temperatures are likely to remain above normal over north-central Konkan Goa and extreme east of Vidarbha.
