IMD Alert! IMD has issued a yellow alert, there will be rain in these states, relief from heat, know details

New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for northwest India, even as the heat wave conditions have subsided in most parts of the country. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Delhi on May 3.


IMD senior scientist RK Jenamani told news agency ANI, “The heat wave in Odisha and Bengal ended on April 30, as we had predicted. Strong winds will prevail in the next two to three days. Due to western disturbance, we are giving Yellow Alert warning to Northwest India also. There is a possibility of rain mainly in Delhi on 3rd May. Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab are on yellow alert and there will be strong winds and rain.

He further said that the Western Disturbance was “very active” and the wind pattern could be seen over Delhi, Lucknow and Jaipur. “East winds will also move strong and the temperature will not rise for the next six-seven days,” said Jenamani.

Rain Forecast for North, East India According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim on May 2. Arunachal Pradesh (May 2 and 3), Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura (May 2-4) will also face similar conditions.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in Northwest India. On May 3, there will be heavy rain in Assam-Meghalaya and Tripura.

Widespread rain with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (speed up to 40-50 kmph) very likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha during next 5 days.

IMD said that there is a possibility of light rain with dust storm, thunder, lightning, gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during the next 3 days. .

Moderate rain with thundershowers very likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 24 hours followed by isolated to fairly widespread rain during May 3-6 Thunderstorm/ lightning/ gusty winds (speed up to 40-50 kmph) very likely. There is also a possibility of isolated hailstorm over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on May 3-4, 2022.
