A period of climate change is being seen across the country. Moderate rain is expected over Coastal Karnataka, southern part of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep while there will be slight drop in the temperature over Central and East India. The air quality of Rajasthan Gujarat including Delhi-NCR has been termed as poor while the mercury has gone into minus in Jammu and Kashmir.


IMD Alert: Once again there is a huge change in the weather across the country. According to the India Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the South Andaman Sea around December 4. At the same time, a cyclonic circulation has also formed in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. The effect of this cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal and Hanuman Sagar will be seen on the weather. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Lakshyadeep during 4 to 5 days due to easterly wave.

Apart from this, the weather is changing rapidly in Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand. A warning has been issued in Haryana as the temperature has dropped. Snowfall continues in the hill state. The temperature has reached minus degrees in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh including Gilgit, Jammu and Kashmir. The effect of snowfall on the snow peak will be seen in central India. Many states including Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh will see a drop in temperature. However, this change in weather will be seen in the second week of December.

Drop in temperature in the capital Delhi

A drop in temperature has been recorded in the capital Delhi. The maximum temperature in Delhi will reach 27 degree Celsius on Tuesday. The air quality has deteriorated. A decrease of 3 degrees has been observed in the minimum temperature. The minimum para has reached 7 degree Celsius.

Cold wave in Jharkhand

The effect of cold wave coming from the mountains is visible in Jharkhand. A continuous drop in temperature is being seen. In many districts, the temperature has reached below 8 degree Celsius. The fall in temperature continues in the capital Ranchi as well. The condition of Sheetlahar has been revealed. From the second week of December, the weather will be covered with fog and cold wave.

Fog will increase in UP

The minimum temperature in the capital Lucknow has reached 13 degree Celsius. The knock of fog and mist is being seen in Noida and other areas including Lucknow. cold wind blows. Due to which the feeling of cold has increased.

Rain alert in entire states

Talking about the entire states, pick up Karnataka Lakshadweep including Manipur, Mizoram and Meghalaya, warning of heavy rain has been issued.

Heavy rain in southern states

Talking about the southern states, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rains at many places including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Due to the cyclonic circulation, these areas will continue to receive rain for the next four to five days, while Odisha will see a drop of three to five degrees in the minimum temperature.

Thunderstorm and rain in these areas

  • Scattered rain expected over Southern Peninsula and Andaman & Nicobar Islands
    Scattered rain is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe.
  • Shallow to moderate fog at isolated places over North Central India and East India during morning hours.
  • There will be a cold wave with a drop in temperature in Rajasthan.
  • Scattered showers are likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Cold wave in Madhya Pradesh

The temperature is likely to drop to single digits at some places in MP. The minimum temperature in Umaria may reach 8 degree Celsius. Raisen and Nagaon have already recorded 7.4 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the state. The temperature in Bhopal, Gwalior Chambal will drop up to 11 degree Celsius, in two-three days the temperature is going to drop further in many parts of the state.

Weather system

  • The cyclonic circulation over central parts of Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
  • As per the forecast, a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Andaman Sea around 4th December.
  • Due to this circulation, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 4th and 5th December.
  • A high pressure system will form over the subcontinent to cause dry weather over most parts of India during December 5 with isolated thunderstorms due to easterly winds.
