IMD Alert : Big News! IMD issues red alert for torrential rains in this state till Tuesday morning, know

Weather Forecast: While the weather remained humid in the capital Delhi on Sunday, there is a forecast of cloudy sky and light rain on Monday i.e. today. The maximum temperature in Delhi on Sunday was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius, one degree less than normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 24.3 degrees, which is one degree Celsius less than normal.

The Meteorological Department estimates that the maximum temperature in Delhi on Monday is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 25 degrees Celsius.

Flood due to heavy rain in Gujarat:

Heavy rain occurred in many parts of Gujarat on Sunday. Due to rise in water level in Narmada and other rivers, low lying areas were flooded and many villages were cut off. During this period, about 9,600 people from five districts were evacuated to safe places and 207 others were rescued. Ahmedabad recorded 76 mm of rain in a span of 12 hours till 6 pm on Sunday, causing waterlogging in many areas of the city.

IMD has issued a ‘red alert’ of extremely heavy rains till Tuesday morning in Panchmahal, Dahod, Kheda, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Banaskantha and Sabarkantha districts. In the IMD bulletin, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of Gujarat till Thursday next week.

Torrential rains in some areas of Rajasthan.

Torrential rains are occurring in Rajasthan. Due to continuous rains in the state, the water level of rivers has increased. Flood situation has arisen at some places. The gates of Mahi Dam have been opened in Banswara of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred in Banswara, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Ajmer and Pali districts, while Banswara district received extremely heavy rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has issued ‘Orange’ alert for Sirohi Jalore, Udaipur, Pali, Barmer, Rajsamand, and Dungarpur districts and ‘Yellow alert’ for Jaisalmer, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Bikaner, Jodhpur districts for Monday.

Rain wreaks havoc in Madhya Pradesh too.

The state has received double the normal rainfall between September 7 and 13. And on September 16, it rained almost ten times. Rivers and drains are in spate in the state. Gates of many dams had to be opened.
