The husband, who hails from Peru, was using Google Maps to research the best way to reach a popular bridge in the country’s capital Lima.
Google Maps is one of the used applications in the world. It keeps a track of your location and destination, shows distances between two points, the estimated time of arrival, and also the traffic conditions prevailing on various roads of a city or town.
The app also shows real-time cars, bikes, lamp posts, traffic signal lights from various locations that are captured by 360-degree cameras. One can say, it makes life easier and better.
But the same can’t be said for everyone.
The use of the application turned into a personal tragedy for a man. Scanning through Google Maps on Street View, the man stumbled upon some pictures that showed his wife cuddling with another man.

When he started using the Street View feature on the application to find different routes, he stumbled upon a familiar figure in Google Steet View Photos. The photo showed a man, dressed in blue jeans and a white t-shirt, lying on a bench next to a woman in black and white clothing. When the Peruvian man zoomed into the picture, he noticed the woman was stroking the hair of the man who was lying down.
At that moment, the man realised the woman is his wife as her clothes were identical.
The husband came across the scene back in 2013. He said he recognised the woman from the clothes she was wearing.
After the discovery, the man confronted his wife, who consequently admitted to having an affair.
The confession led to a permanent breakup of their relationship. According to reports, the couple was divorced soon after the incident.
Google Maps and Earth has thrown up many surprises in the past. And it continues to do so even in 2020.
Last week, a Google Earth user discovered what is believed to be a ‘400-feet ice ship’ lying 160 kms off the coast of Antarctica in an iceberg.
The ice structure has a striking resemblance to a cruise liner with a line of windows. It was spotted on Google Earth, south of New Zealand, said reports. The discovery has sparked many conspiracy theories on social media, with many believing that there is something hidden in the frozen continent.
