Now, instead of 9, only 4 cheap cylinders will be available.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, beneficiaries previously received a total of nine subsidized LPG cylinders per year. However, due to rising international prices, the government has made a significant change to this rule. According to the new order, poor families covered under the Ujjwala Yojana will now be able to receive only four cylinders per year at the subsidized rate. This means that an additional subsidy of ₹300 will now be sent directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts only on the first four cylinders annually.
