UP board has cut its syllabus. Controversies have arisen on two of the chapters which have been removed in the subject of civics. These chapters include the history of the Congress, the phase of a party’s dominance and the Congress.

Prayagraj: UP Board has cut its curriculum by 30 percent this year due to Corona epidemic. Among the chapters which have been removed in the subject of civics in the class of Inter, XII, also include two chapters related to the history of the Congress party, the freedom movement and the role of the Congress in independent India.

Politics has started on the removal of chapters related to the Congress party from the board’s syllabus. The Congress party has strongly objected to this, calling it a political conspiracy. The BJP has given a clarified statement on this controversy, saying that everybody knows about the Congress very well, so there is no need to give more information about it. Historians also do not agree with this decision of the government. He says that without knowing the contribution of Congress in laying the foundation of freedom movement, independent and progressive India, how can nationalist thinking be born in youth.

In both the chapters, the contribution of the Congress in the freedom struggle, the role of the Congress in modern India is explained in detail. The chapter explained in detail from Nehru to Indira. Apart from these two chapters in the subject of civics, many more topics have also been removed. However, the UP board is not ready to say anything about the rules and policy adopted for the removal of chapters.

In this regard, former UP Congress spokesperson Baba Abhay Awasthi says that history is being deliberately manipulated under the political conspiracy in the BJP Raj. BJP has nothing to tell about itself, hence it wants to destroy the identity of Congress. On the other hand, BJP MP Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, a professor of history, says that the Congress wants to turn every occasion of disaster into a political opportunity, so it is opposing it by making it a point of needlessness. He says that most people are aware of the Congress, so there is no need to know more about it.

Professor and Herb Chaturvedi, Professor and renowned historian of the history department of Allahabad Central University, has described it as unfortunate and wrong. He says that whatever the reason behind this, it should not have happened. Apart from politics, the Congress also has a big contribution. Only after knowing this contribution will the spirit of patriotism be awakened among the youth.
