Heavy Rain Alert: Schools from Class 1 to 8 Closed as Administration Goes on High Alert

Due to bad weather and heavy rains in Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh, the district administration has decided to keep all schools from class 1 to 8 closed for a day. This order will be applicable to all government, aided and private schools.

The administration has taken this decision giving priority to the safety of the children.

The Chitrakoot District Officer said that this decision has been taken in view of the Meteorological Department’s warning of heavy rains, strong winds and lightning in the next 24 hours. At the same time, classes from class 9 to 12 will continue as before, but the school management has been instructed to be extra vigilant. BSA gave instructions for strict monitoring The District Basic Education Officer (BSA) has directed all the block education officers to monitor the schools in their areas and ensure that no school disobeys the order. Strict action has been warned against those violating the order.

The school management has been directed to consider starting online classes and make good use of the holiday through homework or projects. Parents welcomed the decision. As soon as they got the news of school closure, parents welcomed the decision of the administration. Many parents say that sending young children to school becomes dangerous during the monsoon season.

This decision is necessary and commendable for the safety of children. Monsoon has worsened the situation, administration is on alert mode. Due to continuous rain for the last 24 hours, many areas have become waterlogged and roads have become slippery. It has become difficult to reach schools located in rural areas.

The administration has put the Municipal Corporation, Police and Disaster Management Department on alert mode and helpline numbers have been issued. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain, lightning and strong thunderstorms for the next 24 hours. The administration has appealed to the people not to go out of the house unnecessarily and keep the children safe.
