HDFC Bank Payment rule changed: Good news! Now you will be able to pay custom duty sitting at home, know how

The integration of HDFC Bank with the CBIC ICEGATE platform has been completed, and now customers can pay their custom duty directly through the bank.


New Delhi. If you have an account in private sector HDFC Bank, then there is good news for you. The bank has now provided its customers the facility to fill customs duty online. In fact, the integration of HDFC Bank with the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs ie CBIC (ICEGATE) platform (ICEGATE) has been completed and now customers can pay their custom duty directly through the bank.

According to the information given to the stock market on Friday, the bank will allow customers to pay custom duty directly by selecting HDFC Bank. HDFC Bank said that it is providing both retail and wholesale payment of custom duty.

No need to make payment through another bank account

A statement said that customers with HDFC Bank will no longer need to make payments through another bank account. Smita Bhagat, Group Head, Startup Banking, Government and Institutional Business, Partnership and Inclusive Banking Group, HDFC Bank, said, “Digital payment of customs duties will make it easier to do business in India.”

ICICI Bank customers will also be able to pay custom duty sitting at home.


Recently, ICICI Bank of the private sector has also started this service. According to the information released by the bank, customers can easily pay the custom duty at home i.e. online. Both corporate and retail customers can avail this facility. Corporate customers can pay custom duty through the bank’s Corporate Internet Banking (CIB) and mobile banking app InstaBIZ, while retail customers can pay through the bank’s retail internet banking platform.

How to make payment through ICEGATE

Customers can make online payment by selecting a bank from the list of banks on the Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE) website. First of all, you have to go to the website of IceGate. When you scroll down, you will have to select the document type and location code. After this the Import Export Code (IEC) has to be entered. You can complete the payment by selecting your bank from the list of banks to make the payment.
