Budget 2023 Halwa Ceremony: The Union Budget 2023-24 is going to be presented in Parliament on February 1, 2023, preparations for which have been completed. Halwa ceremony has been done in the Finance Ministry today.

Traditional Halwa Ceremonies have been celebrated on Thursday (January 26, 2023) in the presence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad and Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary and senior officials of Finance Ministry have been present on this occasion. .

As per the ministry’s tradition in Halwa ceremony, Halwa is made in the Ministry of Finance. This pudding is distributed to all the employees of the Ministry of Finance. After sweetening the mouth, all the employees get involved in the printing of the budget.

The Finance Ministry said in a statement, “Under an unprecedented initiative, the Union Budget 2023-24 is going to be available to the people digitally for the first time. This budget is going to be presented on 1 February 2023.”

Earlier every year the publication of budget documents started with the celebration of Halwa ceremony and this ceremony used to take place about 15-20 days in advance.

The process of compilation of budget documents has started 7 days before with the traditional Halwa ceremony. Along with this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, senior officials of the Ministry of Finance have participated in this ceremony.

After the Corona Pandemic, this time i.e. after about 2 years the budget documents will be printed. Instead, this time the budget documents will be given to the MPs in digital form.

The Finance Ministry had informed in a tweet that the budget documents would be available on the ‘Union Budget Mobile App’ on both Android and iOS platforms after the completion of the budget speech by Sitharaman on February 1. (All photos, courtesy- Ministry of Finance)
