According to the order issued by Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, the amount given under the Democracy Senani Samman Pension has been increased from October 14 to Rs 20,000 per month. Significantly, during the Emergency, both the above laws were used to suppress the voice of political dissent. After the formation of the Janata Party government in the year 1977, these laws were repealed.
