How to link PAN and Aadhaar Card: In order to link PAN card and Aadhar card, the government has issued an alert that if it is not linked before 30 September, then your Aadhaar will become inactive. Let us tell you, Aadhar card and PAN card are the most important documents in India. From filing Income Tax Return (ITR) to major banking transactions, linking Aadhaar with PAN card is also essential.

Apart from this, it is mandatory to have a PAN card for all types of economic work. The Income Tax Department has fixed September 30 as the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar. Keep in mind that if the PAN card is not linked with the Aadhar card, then heavy fines may have to be paid.

PAN will be invalid

According to the Income Tax Department, if you do not link it, then your PAN will become invalid under Section-139AA of the Income Tax Act. In such a situation, you will not be able to file ITR online. In this your tax refund can be stopped. Apart from this, you will not be able to use PAN in any financial transaction.

Know- How to Link Online

  • First of all go to Income Tax website.
  • Enter the name, PAN number and Aadhaar number as given in the Aadhar card.
  • If only the year of birth is given in the Aadhar card, then tick the category.
  • Now enter the given captcha code.
  • Now click on the link Aadhaar button.
  • Your PAN will be linked with Aadhaar.

PAN card will become useless if canceled



After the PAN card is cancelled, it can be revived. But keep in mind that if someone used a canceled PAN card during this period, then it will be considered as a violation of section 272B under the Income Tax Act. In such a situation, the PAN holder will have to pay a fine of Rs 10000 and not only this, if the canceled PAN card is used again, then the penalty can also be increased.
