Convenience Fee on Mobile Recharge: If you recharge your mobile through instant payment app Google Pay, then this news is useful for you. Yes, Google Pay has started charging convenience fee from users who recharge their mobile using UPI. Under this, a convenience fee of up to Rs 3 is being charged by the company. This charge is applicable on users who recharge prepaid plans through Google Pay. Earlier these services were completely free. Users had to pay only the money charged by the telecom operator.

It is possible that you have recharged recently and you have not even paid attention to it till now. But now after this step, Google Pay has also joined the list of Paytm and PhonePe. Paytm and PhonePe have been charging for mobile recharge since last many days. No official information was given by Google regarding the convenience fee charged on mobile recharge.

Fee will not be applicable on recharge up to Rs 100!

This came to light when a user wanted to recharge his mobile through Google Pay. The user had done his first recharge on 11th November, for which no extra charge was taken from him. But now he was shocked when this charge was shown. According to the information, if you recharge up to Rs 100 through Google Pay, you will not have to pay any convenience fee.

Apart from this, on recharge of Rs 100 to Rs 200, convenience fee of Rs 2 is being charged and on recharge of Rs 300 or more, Rs 3 is being charged. If you want to avoid such charges, you can recharge directly by visiting the operator’s website. Google Pay has changed its policy to follow the rules of payment service provider apps like Paytm and PhonePe.
