Good news! UP govt hospitals will now offer more medicines than before, with a new drug list released

0

The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has made a major change for government hospitals. The government has released a new drug list, adding 100 more medicines, meaning that people in Uttar Pradesh will now receive more free medicines from government hospitals than before.

Major improvements have been made to the drug supply system of government hospitals in Uttar Pradesh. The Health Department has implemented a new Essential Drug List (EDL), which includes 100 new medications. This brings the total number of medications available in government hospitals from 297 to 397. The department claims that all medications on the new list will be made available in all district hospitals within the next one to two months.

These medicines will now be available free of charge from the hospital itself.

The new drug list includes important medications used in the ICU, multivitamins, and medications for inflammation and infections. Previously, the availability of these medicines was extremely limited, forcing hospitals to often purchase them through local purchases. This not only complicated procedures, but also prevented many patients from receiving their medicines on time.

10 New Medicines Already Available

Following the implementation of the new list, the Drug Corporation has initially supplied approximately 10 new medicines to government hospitals. These include Chymoral (anti-inflammatory medication), antacid syrup, methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), thiamine (vitamin B1), and other essential medications. The availability of these medicines is expected to provide relief to both serious and moderate patients.

Dr. Kavita Arya , director of Balrampur Hospital, stated that the hospital has already received many of the medications included in the new list from the corporation, and the remaining medications will arrive soon. Civil Hospital Director Dr. Kajri stated that many of the medications included in the EDL have already arrived at the hospital, making it less difficult for patients to receive treatment.

The new system will benefit millions of patients.

The Health Department believes that the expanded drug list will further strengthen medical services and significantly eliminate the problem of patients purchasing expensive medicines from the market. The implementation of the new system will directly benefit millions of patients in the state and improve the quality of treatment in government hospitals.
