Taking a big initiative for the convenience of the people, the Ministry of External Affairs has simplified the process of making passports. Under this, now any person can register and apply for a passport at his nearest post office.



Earlier people had to make a lot of effort to get a passport made. But gradually the process of making it is being simplified. At the same time, for the convenience of the people, the Ministry of External Affairs, taking a big initiative, has made the process of making passports easier. Under this, now any person can register and apply for a passport at his nearest post office. For this, you can apply by visiting the Common Service Center or CSC counter of the nearest post office.

According to India Post, a total of 424 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras have been established across the country. People can avail the facility of application and registration process for passport at the nearest post office.



Under the new system, after submitting the online application, it is mandatory for all the applicants to be physically present at the Passport Seva Kendra along with the print receipt of the application and the original documents. The applicant must keep important documents with him. You will need these documents while applying for a passport.

How to apply in post office

Visit the official website of Passport Seva passportindia.gov.in. You have to first fill and submit the passport application form online. After submitting the application online, you can go to the nearest post office with the original documents and the application print receipt of the Passport Seva Kendra. Passports will be issued within 7 to 14 working days after successful confirmation by the authorities. But, keep in mind that it is mandatory to visit the Passport Seva Kendra or the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra to submit your passport application.

Required documents

To get a passport, you must have a valid identity card such as Aadhar card, voter card, or any valid photo identity card. Age proof i.e. document for age is necessary. For your address proof, you can include a valid identity card in which your address is mentioned.
