Indian Railways: These 27 new AC economy coaches will be fitted in Duronto train and many other trains running for different parts of the country.
New Delhi. Indian Railways is working continuously to provide new facilities to the railway passengers in the country. Under this, now the Railways is ready to put its much awaited AC Economy Class coach on the track. 27 such AC economy class coaches have been prepared by the Railways. Now the work of dividing them into different zones will be done.
According to the information, these 27 new AC economy coaches will be fitted in Duronto train and many other trains running for different parts of the country. These coaches will have 83 berths instead of 72. Railways is currently fixing the passenger fare for traveling in these coaches. It will be a good alternative to AC travel for long distances.
To fix the fare of these coaches, the Railways is also keeping in mind that it should be accessible to those who travel in the sleeper class. It is also being kept in mind that their fare should be around the AC three tier coach. According to officials, the matter has been stuck on this issue since May. Now the Railway Ministry can take a decision soon regarding the fare of these coaches.
Its design has been prepared in such a way that it is better than sleeper coach and stays like AC coach. Also, it should have extra space for more berths. According to sources, it is being said that the fare of these coaches will be decided in the next meeting of the Railway Board.
