On Tuesday, the Finance Ministry has issued an order to implement the decision of the Union Cabinet to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) to 28 percent for central government employees from July 1.



There is a great update for central employees and pensioners. After the announcement of increasing dearness allowance (DA Hike), the Finance Ministry has issued orders regarding the release of allowance from July 1. On Tuesday, the Finance Ministry has issued an order to implement the decision of the Union Cabinet to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) to 28 percent for central government employees from July 1.

The Union Cabinet had decided to increase the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief (DR) rate for central government employees and pensioners by 11 percentage points from July 1. With this, the new rate of DA will increase from 17 percent to 28 percent and 48 lakh central government employees and 65 lakh pensioners will be benefited.

Let us inform that after the cabinet meeting, it was decided to increase the DA, after which a press note was issued by the government saying that ‘the government is increasing the dearness allowance by 28 percent from July 1, 2021, which is from the existing 17 percent. 11 percent more than But for the period from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, the DA will remain at 17 per cent.

In the office memorandum of the Department of Expenditure under the Ministry of Finance, it has been said that the rate of dearness allowance to the employees will be increased from 17 percent to 28 percent of the basic pay from July 1. This increase will also include additional installments due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.



According to the Finance Ministry, this order will also be applicable to the civilian employees getting paid from the Defense Services estimate. Separate orders will be issued by the respective ministries for the employees of the armed forces and the employees of the railways.
