Good News! ITR Filling: Many technical glitches of income tax portal have been removed, Know Details

ITR Filing: The Income Tax Department said that many technical issues have been resolved and the filing figures on the portal are quite positive.


New Delhi: ITR Filing: The Income Tax Department has said that many technical issues have been resolved on the ITR portal. So far 1.19 crore income tax returns have been filed for the financial year 2020-21. The Income Tax Department said that 8.83 crore unique taxpayers have ‘logged-in’ on the portal till 7 September. On an average, 15.55 lakh taxpayers ‘log-in’ on the portal daily in September.

Tax portal problems solved

The Income Tax Department said that many technical issues have been resolved and the filing data on the portal is quite positive. 1.19 crore returns have been filed for assessment year 2021-22. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said out of these 76.2 lakh taxpayers used the portal’s online utility for filing returns. Income tax return (ITR) filing has increased to 3.2 lakh daily in September 2021.

95 lakh ITR e-verify

So far, more than 94.88 lakh ITRs have also been e-verified, which is required to be processed by the Centralized Processing Centre. Out of this 7.07 lakh ITRs have been processed. Over 10.60 lakh statutory forms have been submitted, including 7.86 lakh TDS statements, 1.03 lakh Form 10A for registration of trusts/institutions, 0.87 lakh Form 10E for arrears of salary and 0.10 lakh Form 35 for appeal.

Portal issues since launch


Let us tell you that on June 7 this year, a new e-filing portal www.incometax.gov.in 7 was launched. From the day of its launch, complaints of all kinds of malfunctions started getting in it. The IT company Infosys, which developed it, was also directed by the Finance Ministry to rectify the irregularities immediately. But this problem persisted for a long time. Due to which the dates for filing ITR also had to be extended repeatedly.
