New Delhi. The Union Cabinet has approved the launch of Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana to provide free midday meal to the students of more than 11.2 lakh government and government aided schools across the country. Is. The Mid Day Meal Scheme will now run under the name of PM Nutrition Scheme for the next five years.

Under this scheme of the government, mid-day meal will be ensured to the students of the school. Giving information about this, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that this scheme will run for 5 years and Rs 1.31 lakh crore will be spent under it.

Millions of people will get benefit
Anurag Thakur said in a press conference on Wednesday that today a cabinet meeting was held in which decisions were taken on many important matters. As far as the Prime Minister’s Nutrition Scheme is concerned, apart from the mid-day meal, a lot will be added to it. He said that the beneficiaries will also be crores of students of more than 11,20,000 schools.





Doubling of Neemuch-Ratlam line approved
Apart from this, while giving information about other decisions, the Union Minister said that Neemuch-Ratlam line is still a single line in Madhya Pradesh. Doubling of this line has been approved. About Rs 196 crore will be spent on this 133 km line. Thakur further said that the Rajkot-Kanalus line in Gujarat was also approved for dubbing. An investment of Rs 1080 crore will be made on this 111 km line. With the construction of these two lines, industries will get a boost.



He said that it has been ensured that both these railway lines are completed in 3 years. Apart from this, the Union Cabinet has approved continuation of the National Export Insurance Account (NEIA) scheme and grant-in-aid of Rs 1,650 crore over 5 years.
