This will give huge benefits to the employees in salary. This step is another step towards re-introducing the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

In fact, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced to eliminate 10 percent deduction from the basic salary of state government employees from April 1.

Deduction was done under the new pension scheme

The Chief Minister said that every month 10 percent deduction was made from the basic salary of the employees recruited from January 2004 under the New Pension Scheme, which would be abolished from next month. After adjusting the amount deducted so far in the Pensioner’s Medical Fund in RGHS, the balance amount will be returned along with interest at the time of retirement.

2 to 10 thousand rupees more will be available in salary

Responding to the debate on the Appropriation Bill in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday, Gehlot said that the employees will get the increased salary from April 1. By eliminating the deduction, each employee will get the enhanced salary with an amount ranging between Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 per month.

Old pension scheme has been restored in Rajasthan

Gehlot had announced to implement the old pension scheme from April 1 this year by abolishing the new pension scheme applicable to the employees recruited in the year 2004 and after that in the state budget. In the new pension scheme, 10 percent of the basic salary of the employee was being deducted for NPS.
