Good news for pensioners! Increase in DR, pension will increase in June, will get 5 months arrears, know details

Categories of CPF beneficiaries will be entitled to increase from 360% of the basic ex-gratia to 373% of the basic ex-gratia with effect from 01.01.2022.


The central government has once again given a big relief to the central employees-pensioners. In fact, along with ex-gratia amount of Contributory Provident Fund beneficiaries, an increase in their admissible dearness relief (DR Hike) has been announced. Orders have been issued for this. At the same time, the payment for DR at the increased rate will be done in the month of June. At the same time, employee pensioners will also get the benefit of arrears of 5 months. In this regard, the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has issued an order regarding the increased rates.

The Dearness Relief admissible to Contributory Provident Fund (CPF) beneficiaries to receive the basic ex-gratia payment in the 5th CPC series is being extended with effect from January 1, 2022. The increased rates have been published by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare. Office memorandum dated 11th May, 2022 in the office memorandum. It will be the responsibility of the Pension Disbursing Officers including Nationalized Banks, etc. to calculate the quantum of Dearness Relief (DR) payable in each individual case.

Surviving CPF beneficiaries who have retired from service between the period 18.11.1960 and 31.12.1985, and are entitled to basic ex-gratia at the rate of Rs.3000, Rs.1000, Rs.750 and Rs.650 for Group A, B. C&D, respectively, w.e.f. June 4, 2013, will be entitled to dearness relief from 368% of the principal ex-gratia to 381% of the principal ex-gratia with effect from 01.01.2022. Categories of CPF beneficiaries will be entitled to increase from 360% of the basic ex-gratia to 373% of the basic ex-gratia with effect from 01.01.2022.
