Good news for Microsoft employees! The company will soon give unlimited leave, these people will be benefited

There is good news for the employees of Microsoft. The veteran tech company has changed its holiday policy. The company is also offering unlimited time off along with other holidays.

New Delhi. There is good news for the employees of Microsoft. The veteran tech company has changed its holiday policy. The company is also offering unlimited time off along with other holidays. But tell that all the employees of the company will not get the benefit of this policy. The Verge website, citing an internal memo, said that Microsoft employees in the US who do not have a fixed number of holidays will be able to take unlimited holidays.

In the new rules, which will come into effect from January 16, apart from unlimited leave, employees will get 10 corporate holidays, leaves of absence, sick and mental health leave. Along with this, time will also be given for jury duty or mourning. According to a report in The Verge, Microsoft’s Chief People Officer Kathleen Hogan has emailed the employees about the new policy.

These people will not get facility
However, those who are working on hourly basis or live outside the US or are working as freelance, they will not be able to take advantage of this policy. When asked the reason behind this, Microsoft said that all countries have different laws. Because of this, employees living outside the US cannot be included in this policy.

The company had laid off
Significantly, in October last year, there was news of layoffs of about 1,000 employees in several divisions including the company’s Xbox and Edge teams. Less than 1 percent of Microsoft’s total 221,000 employees have been affected by this layoff. In fact, in media reports quoting sources, Microsoft employees were being claimed to be retrenched.

Even before this, Microsoft had told in July that a small number of positions in the company have been abolished and it will increase the number of its employees. Microsoft said in a statement that, “Today we had a small number of roles. Like all companies, we regularly review our business priorities and adjust the company’s structure accordingly.”
