Good news for LIC policyholders, now submit claim documents online by June 30, know the process

New Delhi, Business Desk . Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has waived the benefits of maturity claims and survival benefits due to the challenges posed by the corona virus epidemic. In a notification on its website, LIC said that policyholders can send their claim documents via email.

As per the notification given on the LIC website, the scanned policy documents like KYC form etc. can be sent to the branch till 30 June. 

  • Scanned copies should not exceed 5 MB. 
  • Mail to claimss.bo Must be sent to @ licindia.com. 
  • If the attachment size is more than 5 MB, you will have to send more than one mail. 
  • Scanned documents should be in GPG or PDF and are readable. 
  • The subject of the mail should be the policy number.

This facility is available only for policies fulfilling all the following conditions

  • Running policies
  • The services of the policies are being taken from the branch office from where they are issued
  • Policies with no debt outstanding
  • Where duplicate policy has not been issued
  • Policies issued under Principal Person Insurance, Employer Employee Scheme or MWP Act
  • In case of survival claim benefits, gross SB amount is up to 5 lakhs
  • In case of maturity claim, the sum assured of the policy is up to 5 lakhs.

  • The following requirements can be obtained by email. Scanned copies will be sent to e-mail as mentioned above by the policy holder.
  • First and last page of the policy bond
  • Fully filled discharge form with evidence 
  • Form No. 3510 Declaration regarding Non-Assignment
  • NEFT mandate form with cancellation check where NEFT is not there
  • KYC document ie ID proof with PAN card and proof of address
  • The policy holder should write his mobile number in his email
  • If the amount is more than two lakhs for survival benefit, submit the policy bond
  • For Maturity Claims where Extended Life Cover is available, Submit Policy Bond with Discharge Form later
  • For all other maturity claims, the policy bond should be canceled and presented to the office later along with the discharge form.
