Central Government Employees: There is good news for central employees. Now they will get free travel in Tejas trains. They will get this discount on their official tours. Tejas- Rajdhani Express is a semi high speed train. It has upgraded coaches.

Who gave the information
The Finance Ministry had given this information by issuing a notice on Monday. It was told in the notice that the department has considered for official tour in Tejas trains. After this, the central government decided to allow the employees to travel in Tejas trains. This will be applicable to tours/training/transfer/retirement journeys other than those mentioned in para 2A (ii) of OM of the Department. The same shall be eligible to travel in Tejas Express trains as for Shatabdi trains as stated in para 2A (ii) of the Department’s OM dated 13.07.2017.

What does eligibility depend on?
In the memorandum issued on July 13, it has been told that the eligibility for train travel will depend on the salary of the employee and it gives recognition to government officials to travel in premium trains.

Tejas is also a premium train
By issuing a notice on Monday, the ministry has added Tejas trains to the list of premium trains. Due to which now the center employees will officially be able to travel free of cost in it. Apart from this, employees are also allowed to travel in premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto.
