The Chief Minister had announced to increase the honorarium of Gram Rozgar Sevaks from Rs.6780 to Rs.10,000. But due to the recovery of PF of the employer from the employees itself, now the Gram Rozgar Sevaks will get honorarium of only Rs 7000.
The EPF of other contractual workers including MNREGA Gram Rozgar Sevaks will be fully deducted from the honorarium of the employees in the state. On the other hand, the officials of the Rural Development Department have found a way to cut their honorarium. The Chief Minister had announced to increase the honorarium of Gram Rozgar Sevaks from Rs.6780 to Rs.10,000. But due to the recovery of PF of the employer from the employees itself, now the Gram Rozgar Sevaks will get honorarium of only Rs 7000.
On October 4, the state government increased the honorarium of Gram Rozgar Sevaks from Rs.6,780 to Rs.10,000, the honorarium of technical assistants from Rs.12,656 to Rs.15,656, the honorarium of computer assistants from Rs.12,656 to Rs.15,156, the honorarium of additional program officers from Rs. 34,140, Accounts Assistant’s honorarium increased from 12,656 to 15,156, Operation Assistant’s honorarium from 15,830 to 18,320 rupees, Helpline executive’s honorarium from 15,820 to 18,320 rupees, Class IV employees’ honorarium from 7,910 to 9 thousand rupees, It has been announced to increase the honorarium of Block Social Coordinator from Rs 11,600 to Rs 14,100 and that of District Social Audit Coordinator from Rs 17,400 to Rs 19,900.
In the system till now, 25% PF was deposited in relation to the salary of the employees. Of this, 12 percent was deposited from the salary of the employee and 13 percent from the employer. For example, by deducting 12 percent from the honorarium of Rs 6000 to the Gram Rozgar Sevak, he used to get a cash honorarium of Rs 5280. But due to the contribution of 13 percent in PF by the government, the total honorarium was Rs 6780. Now the Rural Department has issued an order to make the full deduction of EPF out of ten thousand rupees only. Due to this, now Gram Rozgar Sevaks will get honorarium only Rs 7500.
State President of Gram Rozgar Sevak Sangh Bhupesh Singh has expressed displeasure with this decision of the government. He says that the government is also taxing the entire EPF deduction from the employees like a private company, which is against the rules. Their demand is that the full honorarium declared to the employee should be given and the government should pay the EPF share of the employer separately.
Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Manoj Kumar Singh said that there is no loss to any honorarium worker including Gram Rozgar Sevak. The honorarium of Gram Rozgar Sevaks has increased by more than Rs 3,000.
