7th Pay Commission Latest news: There is good news for central employees. The dearness allowance hike is expected to increase by 3 percent in the festive season. Meaning that by the end of the year, dearness allowance (Mehngai bhatta) will also be paid at the rate of 3 percent. In such a situation, the total dearness allowance (DA) of central employees will increase to 31 percent. Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) has been increased to 28 percent from July. The last three installments of 11 per cent have been added to this, which was frozen in May 2020. Its current DA has been paid in the salary of July.

DA will increase by 3 percent more

Meanwhile, the good news is that the way has been cleared for the dearness allowance to increase for the second half of the year 2021. There will be an increase of 3 percent in this. The total DA will be 31 percent. More than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will get the benefit of this. In fact, according to the AICPI data for June 2021 released by the Labor Ministry, the index has increased by 1.1 points, taking it to 121.7. Due to this, there is bound to be a 3 percent jump in dearness allowance.

Gift can be received till Diwali

According to experts, it is clear from the data that dearness allowance will be 31.18 percent. But, DA calculation is done in round figure. In such a situation, DA 31 percent will be payable. Including the increase in DA of June 2021, now 31 percent DA will be paid. This payment can be done till Diwali. The government can announce this by the end of September. However, there is no official date regarding this yet.

How much will the salary increase?

1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 18,000
2. New dearness allowance (31%) Rs 5580/month
3. Dearness allowance so far (28%) Rs 5040/month
4. How much dearness allowance increased by 5580-5040 = Rs 540/month
5. Increase in annual salary 540X12 = Rs 6480

Calculation on maximum basic salary

Now let’s see this calculation by doing the maximum basic salary of Level-1 at Rs 56900.

Calculation on 31% DA

1. Basic salary of the employee Rs 56900
2. New dearness allowance (31%) Rs 17639 / month
3. Dearness allowance so far (28%) Rs 15932 / month
4. How much dearness allowance increased 17639-15932 = 1707 Rs/month
5. Increase in annual salary 1707X12 = Rs 20484

Note: This is an estimate based salary, only after adding allowances like HRA, the final salary will be made.

Benefit will also be available in other allowances


Only Dearness Allowance for central employees will not increase in September. Rather, other allowances will also increase. This includes Travel Allowance and City Allowance. At the same time, a big increase is also expected in Provident Fund and Gratuity for retirement. This is because, the increase in dearness allowance affects all these allowances.
