The dearness allowance of central employees may once again increase before the festivals. If everything goes well, then before Diwali, the salary may increase once on the central employees. Not only this, good news can also come about his arrears of 18 months.


Earlier, from July 1, the central employees have started getting dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) 28 percent for pensioners. The central government has increased the dearness allowance from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. Now once again the dearness allowance of central employees may increase by 3 percent in the festive season. If this happens, then the total dearness allowance will be 31 percent.

According to the news, dearness allowance can be announced this month. However, no deadline has been fixed for this. According to reports, the government can announce it in September and pay it in the salary of October. Employees union believes that if dearness allowance is announced in September, then the government should also pay arrears from July till now. Because, no talk has been made on the arrears of one and a half year already.

DA and DR may increase by 3 percent

There is a demand from the employees union that the government should soon announce an increase of 3 percent dearness allowance, so that the employees can get some relief from inflation. The data of AICPI index is out. The index has reached 121.7. In such a situation, for June 2021, the DA is set to increase by 3 percent. The index for June 2021 has increased by 1.1 points, taking it to 121.7.

In this sense, the total DA works out to 31.18 per cent. But, DA is paid in round figure. In such a situation, DA will be available only 31 percent. Now again after the increase of 3 per cent, dearness allowance will reach the level of 31 per cent. That is, once again there will be a good increase in the salary of central employees. CM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra says that if the government announces this soon, then it will definitely be a big relief for the government employees.


This much money will come on Diwali

The DA arrears of Level-1 employees ranges from Rs.11,880 to Rs.37,554, while for Level-14 (pay scale), the DA in the hands of an employee ranges from Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2, 18,200 will come. The total dearness allowance has increased by 11 per cent as compared to last year. The government has reduced it to 28 per cent from July 2021. Now if it increases by 3 percent in June 2021, then it will reach 31 percent with dearness allowance (17+4+3+4+3). That is, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, then he will get DA of Rs 15,500.

Calculation on 31% dearness allowance

Basic salary of the employee – Rs 18,000

New Dearness Allowance (31%) – Rs 17,639 per month

Dearness Allowance so far (17 percent) – Rs 9,673 per month

How much dearness allowance increased – Rs 7966 per month

Annual Salary Increase – 7966×12 = Rs 95,592

From July 1, the Central Government increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) allowance to central employees and pensioners by 11 per cent from 17 to 28 per cent. Central employees and pensioners are getting 28 percent dearness allowance from July 1. With the increase of 11 per cent in DA and DR, there has been a substantial increase in the salary of central employees.

Calculation on 28% Dearness Allowance

Basic Pay of Employee – Rs 18,000

New Dearness Allowance (percentage) – Rs 5,040 per month

Dearness Allowance till date (17%) – Rs 3,060 per month

How much dearness allowance increased – 1980 increased by Rs.

Salary per month – 1980×12= Rs 23760


Let us tell you that after increasing the Central Government (DA), the House Rent Allowance (HRA) given to the central employees has also been increased. The government has increased the HRA to 27 percent. After the dearness allowance, now due to the increase in the House Rent Allowance (HRA), the central employees have become bat-bats. The HRA has been increased by 1-3 per cent for different categories.


According to the order of the Ministry of Finance, now central employees will get 27 percent, 18 percent and 9 percent house rent allowance according to their city. At present, it is 24 per cent, 16 per cent and 8 per cent for all the three classes. The minimum house rent allowance for all the three categories will be Rs 5400, 3600 and Rs 1800. Overall, let us tell you that the minimum DA hike will be Rs 5040 and the minimum HRA hike will be Rs 1800 every month. That is, the salary coming in September will increase by Rs 6840 (5040 + 1800).
