Fall in gold and silver on MCX
Gold and silver rates fell on Tuesday on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) due to weak spot demand. On Tuesday evening on MCX, gold fell by Rs 51 and is trading at Rs 59950 per 10 grams. Similarly, silver was seen falling by Rs 1228 per kg and trading at Rs 73768. Earlier on Monday, silver had closed at Rs 74996 per kg and gold at Rs 60001 per 10 grams. Globally, silver prices declined by 0.84 per cent to USD 25.31 an ounce in New York.
Breakdown continues in the bullion market
Bullion market rates are issued daily by the India Bullions Association (https://ibjarates.com). On Tuesday morning, both gold and silver opened faster than on Monday. But a decline was seen in the evening. On Tuesday, 24 carat gold fell to the level of Rs 60078 per 10 grams. A decline was also observed in the rate of silver and it closed at the level of 74075 with a break. Earlier on Monday, gold had closed at Rs 60081 and silver at Rs 74390 per kg. On Tuesday, 23 carat gold reached Rs 59837, 22 carat gold at Rs 55031 and 20 carat gold at Rs 45059 per 10 grams.
