Jayaprakash Ranjan, New Delhi. India and China have once again shown the potential to remove military tension on the border through mutual consultations. On Friday, the situation of the incursions by Chinese troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) of eastern Ladakh, which took place on Friday, was discussed extensively between the Foreign Ministry officials of the two countries. It was agreed that whatever situation has been created will be overcome keeping in mind the feelings and concerns of each other and such situation will not be turned into a big controversy.

Talk on ongoing deadlock in Ladakh

There was a lengthy conversation in video conferencing between Navin Srivastava (East Asia), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs of India and Wu Jianzhou, Director General of the Foreign Ministry of China. The entire conversation is said to have centered on the worsening situation along the Line of Actual Control. The talks took place a day before the talks between military officials. Just before Lt. General level talks on Saturday, both countries have taken diplomatic initiative and have given clear instructions to their military officers that now the situation has to be brought under control.

Do not let the tension rise

According to the information given by the Ministry of External Affairs, the current situation was reviewed in the meeting held on June 5, 2020. In this context, the consensus between the top leaders of the two countries also mentioned that peaceful, stable and balanced relations between India and China are necessary for peace in the whole world. It has been agreed between the two sides that according to the instructions from the top leaders, the two countries should try to resolve the mutual issues. While doing this one should also take care of each othe

r’s feelings, sensations and concerns.

Peace is necessary for better relationships

According to the information received, at the same time efforts should be made that such disputes should not be turned into major differences. According to sources, both countries have drawn a line for the meeting of military officers on the diplomatic level on Saturday, yet this meeting will be of special importance. Regarding the talks held on Friday, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong in New Delhi said that there is growing agreement between the two countries that they are not a threat to each other. The meeting also discussed the fight against Kovid-19.

Line drawn before military officers meeting

It is worth mentioning that a similar situation arose in the year 2017 on the Doklam (Bhutan-China-India) border. At that time also, the armies of the two countries stood before each other. For almost 73 days, both sides were extremely stressed. Then after several stages of negotiations at the level of the Ministry of External Affairs, the military gathering was reduced. It is worth mentioning that in April 2018, when the first informal conversation between PM Narendra Modi and President Xi Shinfing was held, it was agreed that no dispute will be allowed to become a big fight.

This is how the Doklam dispute was resolved

This time, the Chinese Army PLA troops have infiltrated the Galvan region of eastern Ladakh for a month. Seeing the increasing military activities of China, India has also started increasing its troops there. Explain that there is an 857 km long border between the two countries in the Ladakh region. It has an international border of 368 km, ie there is no dispute between the two countries, but the area of 489 km is LAC, which is a dispute. The entire part of it is open for five months only during the summer season.
