Force Motors says that when the commercial diesel vehicle is following the rules by the government, then it should not be stopped unnecessarily. Force Motors said that diesel vehicles are being stopped from movement in many places of the country due to unscientific and baseless bias.

According to PTI, the Pune-based company, which sells diesel-powered vehicles in the commercial, passenger and agricultural categories, has said in its annual report for 2020-21 that diesel vehicles meet the country’s mandatory rules and due to that their movement is restricted. There is no point in doing it. Therefore, there should be free movement of these vehicles within the cities.

The automaker said, “The local area’s baseless restrictions on the use of diesel vehicles that actually meet the nationally mandated criteria are irrational.” While it will take at least a decade to achieve the objective of achieving zero emissions by electric vehicles for all vehicle segments, diesel vehicles that meet the mandatory criteria are an excellent solution even within cities.

The company said that there is a need to remove unscientific and baseless prejudices in this regard. Significantly, fearing an increase in air pollution, many states do not allow the movement of commercial vehicles with diesel engines within cities or in parts where they encourage the use of eco-friendly vehicles.

Last month, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari appealed to automakers to discourage production and sale of diesel-engined vehicles and promote other technologies.
